Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan on August 22, 2026, said reservations cannot be abolished at anyone’s demand, asserting that the system is a constitutional right intended to support communities that have faced social discrimination for generations.
Addressing a Traders Conclave in Patna, Paswan said the government would engage in dialogue with anti-reservation protesters demonstrating at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, provided they put forward their demands in a systematic manner.
