Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today flagged off mobile medical unit (MMU) vans “Arogya Rath” in five districts of the state with a view to providing medical facilities to the remote areas of the state.
While launching the first batch of mobile units, he said this facility would cater to the needs of those people who reside in far flung areas of the state as they did to go to the hospital, instead hospital would be at their doorstep.
He said every district would be provided with one MMU van in the next two months, adding that if the MMU scheme turns out to be a success then the number of MMUs could be increased in the districts. The mobile vans would be global positioning system (GPS) enabled, its location could be tracked easily.
