Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi inaugurated J-PAL Bihar Development Conference in Patna on January 15, 2010. The conference was organized by Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Lab, Department of Economics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at hotel Chanakya.
Speaking on the occasion, Modi said Bihar would have to maintain 11.08 per cent growth rate over the next 16 years if it is to attain the development level of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
