Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated “Transparency Encouragement Function 2009” organized by Bihar State Information Commission at SK Memorial Hall in Patna on November 12, 2009.
Speaking on the occasion Nitish Kumar asked to people to use the provision of Right to Information (RTI) Act. “It is a way to strengthen democracy and empower people”, he said.
The Chief Minister gave away certificates and cash awards to 23 students who won prizes in the state-level essay writing and poster competition. Bihar Vidhan Sabha Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary presided over the function.
Chief Information Commissioner Ashok Kumar Chaudhary welcomed the guests while Information Commissioner Mohammad Shakeel Ahmad proposed a vote of thanks.
