Bharhawa: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said Bapu's story would be narrated in every school after the prayers meet throughout the year to celebrate the centenary celebrations of Champaran Satyagrah.
Addressing a meeting after paying tributes to Pandit Raj Kumar Shukla on whose request Mahatma Gandhi visited Champaran to fight for the cause of indigo farmers against British rule.
"I'm am glad and feeling fortunate to be here on the day Pandit Raj Kumar Shukla brought Mahatma Gandhi here 100 years ago. This is my wish a statue of Pandit Raj Kumar Shulka should be constructed here and by the side this statue one statue of Sant Rout should also be installed here", he said.
He said Mahatma Gandhi had spent night at Sant Rout's residence.
He said one memorial and a road connecting Amolava to Bharhawa would also be constructed.
He also directed water resources department officials to find out a solution to the problems of erosion developed by Pandai river in several villages.
