Patna: Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader and also the Rajya Sabha member Dr CP Thakur has been nominated for the World Health Organisation Life Time Achievement Award for his research works on Kala-azar (Black fever).
The award will be given to him at Worldleish 6 Congress to be held in Toledo (Spain) on May 16.
Dr Thakur will be the first medical scientist from India who is selected for this prestigious award.
He will also participate in the five-day conference and deliver lectures on latest research on Kala-azar and the techniques to fight with this dreaded fever.
