Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurates 100-seat BPO in Patna




Patna, April 19, 2017: Union Minister of Law and Justice and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday said India was all set to export worth Rs 600 crore in IT sector in the next five years.

"India has been growing fast as IT hub and job opportunities have been increasing steadily through digitization and information technology", he said at the inaugural function of Bihar's first 100-seat Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) at Patliputra Software Technology Park of India (STPI) here.

He said digital payment has increased by 1000 to 1200 per cent in the past a few months.

He said the Central Government had already chalked out plan to create BPOs in small cities. "We have earmarked 48000 BPO seats in the country. Among these, Bihar will get 4600 seats", he said.

BJP MLAs Sanjeev Chaurasia, Nitin Navin, STPI director Manas Ranjan Panda, deputy director Rajiv Kumar and Swatantra Kumar Bharti of Maestros Technical Services Private Limited were present on the occasion.
