“Silting is a problem in all rivers. We have got the reports on the causes of silting in Ganga and the work will start soon to make
Ganga silt free,” he said.

Bharti inspected the progress of Ganga River Front Development Project and made a trip from Barharwa Ghat to Gandhi Ghat, during her one-day visit of the state capital.
Earlier, the union minister reviewed the progress work of Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) and Sewerage Network Project of the State Capital at State Guest House.

Construction work of three STPs-Saidpur, Beur and Karmalichak-projects have already been approved under Centre and State partnership while the Central Government will bear all the expenses of Kankarbagh and Digha STPs.
