Launch campaign against dowry and child marriage, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar asks people





Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called upon the people to launch campaign against social evils especially against dowry and child marriage.

Addressing the martyrdom function of Veer Kunwar Singh here on Wednesday, he said Bihar had been the main centre of every revolution in the past and now people of the state would launch movement against social evils as they had successfully done it against liquor.

"It will be not enough to remember the sacrifices of great people on their birth and death anniversaries but we have to follow and act on their thoughts and ideologies", he said.

JD(U) state president Vashisht Narayan Singh, Industry Minister Jai Kumar Singh, MLA Shyam Rajak and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The Veer Kunwar Singh Committee also passed four resolutions that included Bharat Ratna for Veer Kunwar Singh, formation of National Upper Caste Commission (Rashtriya Swavarna Ayog) and national monument status for Jagdishpur fort.
