Gandhian thinkers asked to set an agenda for nation

Patna, April 10, 2017: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called upon the Gandhian thinkers to set an agenda for guiding the nation into required direction that Mahatma Gandhi envisaged.

Speaking in the opening function of two-day national convention on “Mahatma Gandhi’s life-philosophy” at newly built Gyan Bhavan here on Monday, he said: There is an atmosphere of intolerance and hatred prevailing in the world as well as in the nation. One sided dialogues are going on every where with illogical reasoning. So it has become necessary for the Gandhians to arrive into a conclusion and set an agenda for the nation”.

“The seminar organized here is not only a stage to give reaction but to find a solution to the existing problems and we will take the outcome of the conference to the people. Then the people will decide which agenda they prefer”, he said.

“Now, people have become more and more materialistic. They love Mahatma Gandhi but do not want to follow his thoughts. It’s our duty to spread the messages of Mahatma Gandhi to common people”, he added.

The two-day seminar also marked the beginning of year-long centenary celebration of Champaran Satyagrah that Mahatma Gandhi had launched in 1917 to fight for the cause of indigo farmers.
