Patna, April 9, 2017: One Railway Protection Force assistant
sub inspector (ASI) and six jawans of Railway Protection Security Force (RPSF)
were suspended following theft-cum-robbery incident in the Patna bound
Rajdhani Express on Sunday.
Sources said miscreants struck in the A4, B7 and B8 coaches
of the 12310 New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Rajdhani Express in between Mughalsarai
and Buxar section of the East Central Railway in the wee hours of Sunday and
decamped with cash, jewellery and other valuables lakh of rupees from about a
dozen of passengers when the rain made an unscheduled halt at Gahmar due to
some technical snag in the signaling system.
Passengers have lodged complaints at Government Railway
Police (Patna Junction) and the case was later referred to Superintendent of
Railway Police (Allahabad ).
Police are probing into the matter keeping all aspects open
regarding possible involvement of coach attendant and other railway employees in the
incident.
